15 Month Check Up

Today has been a long day! Physical Therapy and First Steps both came to evaluate the babies this morning at 8:30. They are doing great. We are going to cut back on the PT for Jenna and Jimmy to just quarterly now, rather than 2X per month. They really don't need it at all (probably really never did, but they had a slight head tilt, and since we qualified and its free, we took it). But maybe it did help them b/c they started walking before Cassie. We are staying in the First Steps program b/c if we get out now and they have any delays later on in the next year or two, its very hard to get back in for the free services. They were making comments about how quickly they caught up for being preemies. Although, we haven't had any concerns about them--we know they are normal :)

After their nap, I got them cleaned up and ready to go to the Dr. My mom was meeting us there to help. Our appt was at 2 and at 1:25, they called me to see if we could reschedule. What?? No way! Don't they know I have to start getting prepared 2 hrs early to get everything packed up, all the kids changed, dressed, loaded in to the car, etc? And arrange for help on that day??? Not to mention I scheduled the appt 2 mos ago! Sorry, we are going to the Dr! :) I just thought it was kind of nervy to be calling me, especially that late! So, that was a long two hours of our life, sitting in a little room with the big stroller, Alli and 3 whiny babies. They had to get 3 shots each also, so that was even more fun. Awesome!

Anyway....stats....not sure how Jenna and Cassie are different %

Jenna 20lbs 2oz (10%), 30in (40%), head 46cm (55%)

Cassie 20lbs 9oz (10%), 29in (10%), 46cm (50%)

Jimmy 28lbs 1oz(80%), 30.5in(30%), 48cm(75%)

Cassie still has ear infection, so now is going to take Augmentum to try to heal it up. All 3 of them have patches of eczyma. Nothing too special to report ~ just 3 healthy babies. Oh, and my Alli girl was an angel there! Thanks Mom for helping!

Yesterday, my mom was babysitting and noticed Alli broke out in hives on her stomach, arm, and face. She gave her Benadryl and she was fine. We traced back everything she ate/drank to make sure she didn't have any milk (she is very allergic!). Then about 6pm last night, it happened again for no reason. Jim called the exchange and they said to bring her to the ER, just in case it was from her milk allergy and with her history. Benadryl worked again, and everything seems to be okay. She didn't have any respiratory issues like she usually does. We just have to give her Benadryl every 6 hrs for 3 days. She is still breaking out today in between the medicine. And she is on steroids for 3 days. She hates the taste of it and now she is tossing and turning in her bed, so I'm pretty sure its from taking that. The dr. said today that a lot of times hives are caused when you have a cold??? She doesn't seem to have one or any symptoms though. But, whatever. Hopefully that's it!

I forgot to mention that after appealing our insurance for the girls helmets back in November, and they were supposed to answer our appeal within 15 days, and we never got an answer and Jim had to call twice a week b/c they lost it, etc, etc, etc, we finally won the appeal and they sent us a check to reimburse us for Jenna and Cassie's helmets. Yay! They covered Jimmy's for some reason, that is why we knew they should have covered the others. We are thankful to our lawyer friend who made one simple phone call for us and then we had our answer within 48 hrs. When she offered to call for us, she said sometimes they get scared when a lawyer calls....seems that is all it took :)

My 32nd Birthday and other stuff

I turned 32 this past Saturday. I don't really feel that much older yet :) It was a really good day. I went to my bootcamp class early in the morning, then hung out with the kids. I took them all over to my mom's house to get Jimmy's hair cut and to see my sister, brother-in-law, and their kids. His hair looks soooo cute. I got it cut really short this time....he just had way too much. That night, Jim and I went out with my family and friends to Fast Eddies. Always a good time. Thanks everyone for coming out to celebrate and for all of the great gifts too! Oh, and I was very tired the next day. Jim and I didn't do anything.

Alli loves to 'trick' us and act like she is sleeping when we come into a room. We think she was trying to trick us yesterday and she was play sleeping, but then it went on a little too long. She wouldn't laugh when Jim was trying to tickle her or anything. Then we realized she really did fall asleep on the kitchen chair! She is just too darn funny and cute. And sooo sweet!

Bath time today
Jimmy does not like to take a bath at all! He screams and cries before I even put him in the tub. Poor little guy. He squirms, gets up, rolls around. I dread giving him baths. But then he is so sweet when I get him out and wrap him up in a towel.
The girls are pretty good in the bath tub. Here is Cassie all fresh and clean.

Cassie took her first two steps last Saturday (2/14). She has been standing on her own for almost 2 weeks, so I knew she was getting ready to go soon. Sunday she took about 4. Then Monday, 6. Today she is walking across the room. So cute!!! She picked up on it really quick!

Cassie in action
Allison has been wanting Bendaroos since she discovered Nickelodeon and Spongebob Squarepants. Every time the commercial is on, she calls us into the room and says, "Mom, I want BENDAROOOOOS!". So, for Valentine's Day, we got her some. I didn't want to spend $20 on the stupid pieces of waxy string, but I knew she would love them and she is such a good big sister, I thought she deserved them. I was going to wrap them, but went from the bedroom to the kitchen to get tape and scissors and she came running out to Jim with the box and said, I got Bendaroos! She was so cute and excited.
Last Friday (2/13), we had an unofficial St. Sebastian reunion. I think about 10 or 11 of us showed up, plus spouses. It was good to see everyone. I haven't seen some of them in almost 20 years!
