Apology

Just wanted to apologize to everyone for not updating the blog this past week. The kids have been sick and we just have been too busy to take pictures. Jimmy and Cassie had double ear infections, so amoxycillin 2x/day, Jimmy has a rash on his belly (ointment 3x/day), breathing treatments for all of them every 4 hrs and then Tylenol about every 4 hrs. Makes for a busy day and a huge chart on the refrigerator to keep track of it all. Oh, and then Jim got the flu last Friday night/Saturday. I didn't want him near us and he was too sick, so I was on my own.....NOT A FUN DAY. I cried a lot and drank some beer when the night was finally over. But.......they are now on the mend. Breathing treatments are down to about once a day. Hopefully the germs are gone the rest of the winter...we've had enough!

Oh, and I oversaw Jim on Facebook saying that I would probably post his lion picture that Alli took (she likes to play lion), so thought I would follow through for him :)
Jenna the sock head! They all like to play in the sock basket. Everyone has one, right? Not that we ever fold our laundry, but we NEVER have time to fold socks :)
Tomorrow night I'm looking forward to a happy hour with a lot of my grade school friends. Some of them I haven't seen in 20 years! Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post. Saturday is Valentine's Day. Hopefully we can go out to dinner or something. Sunday is Mexican bingo...I'm hoping to be able to go :)

Ughhh! Sick kids again.

Jenna started getting sick on Saturday afternoon, then Jimmy on Sunday night. Took them to the dr. on Tuesday and Jenna has RSV, Jimmy was negative for it, but they are both doing breathing treatments every 4 hrs. Yesterday and last night, Alli and Cassie started coughing, running nose. I swear its never ending...as most of you probably already know this when there is more than one kid in your household. We try our best not to let them share bottles, food, etc, but its really just a waste! Oh well. I heard the Groundhog says Spring is coming early this year! Yay!!!!! Did I mention I hate winter? Because I say it all of the time, just didn't know if I ever posted here ;)

So, since everyone is sick and mom and dad are stressed, no cute pictures. I do have a video of Cassie and Jimmy actually playing nicely. Of course, before I started the video, they were giggling and talking, but then when I turn on the camera, they stop. Sometimes I wish I had cameras recording in my house all the time - of course, only for the cute stuff :)

Happy Superbowl! We are going to Jane and Ken's house for their party they have every year. Always good food and good times. We are also celebrating Katie's college graduation today. And we finally get to meet baby Libby. With all of the sickness going around, then the bad weather, we haven't made it over to see her yet. Jenna came down with a cold yesterday, so Jim and I are going to take shifts going to the party b/c we don't want to bring her out or get anyone else sick. Hopefully, we can keep the other kids from getting sick.

In reference to the bad weather, some people may have been happy for the snow, but not me. I don't like anything about winter...except for Christmas and my b-day :) But Alli did like going out with Daddy to play in the snow. They like to hang out and play together, and even snuggle!

Wed or Thurs of last week, Cassie realized she can now stand up. She is so cute...her legs all spread out like she is almost doing the splits. She hasn't taken any steps yet, but I'm sure she'll be there soon. She stands up and smiles and is so darn proud of herself (and we are proud of her too). Jimmy has taken up to 8-9 steps, but usually its 3-4. He is so cute and laid back...he'll walk when he's ready. He has a little more weight to balance ;) But he tries all the time! He never did learn to crawl. Now for Jenna...my little walking girl! She can pretty much walk across the room and usually chooses to walk rather than crawl. So, I think its safe to say she is walking now. She still falls and loses balance a bit, but she is getting so good :)

Welcome Libby!!!!!

Katie, Cory, and Cory welcomed a new baby girl to their family on Saturday 1/17/09. Congratulations to all of you! We can't wait to meet her!

Nothing going on this week except for sickness. I was sick earlier in the week and now Jenna and Jimmy got it. They both seem to be feeling a little bit better today though.

Happy Homecoming Anniversary!

I wanted to post this on Monday, but I came down with the flu, so I've been a little weak. Monday was the one year anniversary that our family was finally all together at home. Jenna came home that day and Alli made her star performance on the potty! Wow, it's crazy how it seems like it was so long ago, yet, the year seemed to fly by!

They were all so tiny! And Allison has grown so much in the past year. Thankfully, I got a little bit smaller ;)
We are working on sippy cups...still haven't got rid of the bottles yet, but they are getting the hang of the cups.
So, nothing much going on here. Just trying to keep the kids from getting sick. Jenna got sick last night, but nothing since then, so hopefully she is okay. Jimmy went to the dr. last week for a rash he had on his belly and it ended up being staph....most of it went away with the ointment they gave us, but he is going back today for a follow-up. Still aren't taking tons of steps, just a few at a time, but more often. Cassie hasn't taken any yet, but she is getting a little more daring and letting go more. Sorry I've been slacking on the updates...I have a new addiction...FACEBOOK! And Jim is addicted also. So, if you have a profile or set one up, look for us.....we would love to have some new friends!!!

Just a few pictures and updates. The babies are so much fun lately. They are moving all around...they love to stand up using their toys, diaper boxes, furniture, me. Jenna took 9 steps now last Friday and she just keeps trying and trying. Jimmy is still trying, he took 4 steps tonight. He walks around the furniture like he is so sure of himself, so I don't think it will be too long. Him and Jenna love to stand up and clap for themselves. Cassie is just now starting to let go and gain some balance. She hasn't started taking any steps yet though. They are doing really good with their table foods and we're still working the sippy cups, they are getting a little better.

Jimmy loves to steal anything the girls have. I think the just does it to make them mad b/c he doesn't even play with it, he usually just throws it.

We are both off over the Christmas holidays, so we got to enjoy a lot of time with the kids and other family and friends. We had something going on almost every day. But, as enjoyable as it was, I was happy to go back to work today.

I just noticed that a lot of the pictures are Jimmy & Cassie together......Jenna must be off walking around, or following me around because she is such a mommy's girl. I'm guessing she is at my feet crying to be picked up :)
